UserTesting’s innovative, flexible workspace blends brand, function, and future growth.

In 2020, amidst the pandemic, UserTesting secured 43,000 sqft at 144 Townsend, recognizing the need for a future-proof, hybrid-ready workspace. The location held immense potential but required a custom buildout to match their growth ambitions. Collaborating closely with designers, valuable insights were gained into UserTesting’s operations, long-term goals, and vision—crafting space plans and aesthetics that reflected their brand and prioritized functionality.

Highlights include a flexible deck area, shipping container-inspired booths, a modern kitchen, and an outdoor patio that promotes collaboration and relaxation. The second-floor boardroom offers a high-tech, private meeting space. To enhance the environment and reinforce the brand, ten large, colorful murals were curated, lending on-brand, vibrant statements that energize the space.

The phased construction approach started with the first floor, allowing early access for employees and providing optimal flexibility for finalizing layouts and designs for the upper levels. This strategic phased rollout ensured a seamless transition, minimized disruption, and accommodated evolving needs.

The final result is a tailored, dynamic workspace that supports UserTesting’s growth, fosters collaboration, and reflects their innovative brand vision—a perfect balance of style, function, and future flexibility.
